Here are some photos from the St Ann's Outreach Center in Kingstree. These were taken when I delivered the second load of blankets and towels that were collected by the people of Prince of Peace. As you can I see, I had some help from the kids in the after school program.
You will see in the background that the car was packed to the brim, so I think we should count this a very successful effort. Thank you to all who donated items for the people served by the Outreach Center.
Also, last Wednesday the Sisters and students welcomed Merideth Hite a doctoral student in music (oboe) at the Julliard School in New York and a native of Abbeville, SC for an afternoon of music and musical games. Merideth is a friend of mine from our time at the S.C. Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities and having grown up in a town similar in size to Kingstree she wanted to share her experiences and offer some encouragement to the students in the after school program run by the Sisters. I am glad Prince of Peace was able to facilitate this connection. Here is Merideth with the students:
