It is hard to believe, but Lent begins in less than two weeks. We should now begin giving some consideration to what disciplines we will take on for Lent, what we intend to give up in mortification for the Lenten season, and what books we will take up as spiritual reading for the season.
This Lent might be the ideal time for you to take up a classic work of Christian spirituality such as St Francis de Sales' Introduction to the Devout Life or Thomas a Kempis' Imitation of Christ or perhaps you feel called to simply dedicate yourself to the continuous and deep reading of one the four Gospels or another book of the Bible.
